Our Blessed Hope

As we near the end of our summer Theology series, it is time to talk about the return of Christ - our blessed hope (Titus 2:13). God's gospel will be brought to fulfillment by the Lord Himself at the end of this age.

Here is a key passage we will be looking at this Sunday:

Titus 2:11–15 (ESV)
11 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, 12 training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, 13 waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, 14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works. 15 Declare these things; exhort and rebuke with all authority. Let no one disregard you.

Here are a couple of questions to ponder in relation to this passage and in anticipation for the message Sunday morning:

  • Do you think much about Christ's second coming?
  • Why do you think past generations of Christians seemed to think about it far more than we do today?
  • If Christ came back today, do you think you will have missed out on anything life on earth offers?
