Jesus weeps with Santa Rosa
The shortest verse in the Bible is my greatest comfort in the aftermath of the Santa Rosa fires:
John 11:35 - "Jesus wept."
He wept at death. He wept over the hurt and pain and grief of his friends.
As the incarnate Son of God, he entered time and space and he knows the hurt we experience in this life.
And for us in Santa Rosa and Sonoma County and Northern California - Jesus weeps with us. He is not a distant God that doesn't care. He weeps with us. As I continue to cry and mourn each day at what our region has faced and is facing... at what my family and friends have faced and are facing... I can cry and mourn and weep and my Savior is there comforting me because He is the same God yesterday, today, and forever.
Isaiah 41:10 - "fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
