"Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
Jesus in Matthew 11:28-30
Jesus' yoke - a metaphor regarding His teaching and the way of life of a follower/disciple of Him - is a promise of "rest from the weariness and burden of religious regulation and human oppression, because it is none other than commitment to Him" (New Testament scholar Michael Wilkins).
In this series we are looking at some of the objections people have to church and Christianity by turning those objections toward Jesus and His yoke (or His teaching). Click here to go to the sermon/message page where you can listen to these (and other) messages.
